National Champion…

I still can’t believe it – I’m the National Indoor Champion for U20 Women’s High Jump!

Last weekend I went to Sheffield not knowing if I would be able to compete, let alone win. The heavy cold that had drained me for the 2 weeks leading up to the Indoors was still hanging around. I felt a bit improved on the Friday so we sent to Sheffield. I was half expecting to pull out during warm-up, but my pop-ups had some spring so I gave t a try. I’m pleased I did. Though not a day for personal bests, it was about getting 1st time clearances at each height. That I did, and it paid off.

So it brings my indoor season to a close, with a clean sheet of comps. Four golds – Essex, Eastern Counties, Southerns and now Nationals. So it’s back to a focus on conditioning in the lead into the outdoor season and staying injury free, with help from Perfect Balance.
