Why would you need an MRI Scan?

An MRI scan is a detailed scan that clearly visualizes the soft tissues and bone. An X-ray is the choice when visualizing just bone, but MRI scans can be used for all body tissues and even some organs.

If you are referred for an MRI scan, it usually means we just need to get a more detailed image of the area of concern. The scan results will be fed back to our specialists so we can decide how is best to manage your condition going forwards.  If the condition is not clear or needs a second opinion, then often one of our specialist partners will be informed.

Either way we will be sure to fast track your results and diagnosis so we can continue with getting you better.

MRI scan for sports injuries

Sports injuries can be difficult to diagnose at the best of times.  MRI scanning will help our specialists get to the bottom of your sports injury very quickly. Our diagnostic partners will ensure a diagnosis and report are passed to our team of specialists, meaning they can concentrate on coming up with a treatment plan to get you better quickly. There are many sports injuries for which we may use an MRI scan to quantify the level of injury.  For more information please visit our conditions which we treat page.
